After receiving my yoga teacher training in 2015, I found my calling in supporting mothers and children as a postpartum doula. I trained with the DONA organization as well as with Jenna Furnari (Certified Ayurvedic Practitioner) to learn the methods and tools to support mothers and families in the early postpartum time (6 weeks after birth & beyond.) This approach to postnatal support focuses on replacing postnatal depletion (and all ailments that follow suit) with complete-health replenishment through warming nourishment of many kinds. My wish is for all of my clients to feel nurtured and empowered to meet parenthood as it presents. I believe when a mother receives postpartum support (especially in the first 6 weeks following birth) she is better set up for parenting and thus community maternal and child health outcomes are improved. I look forward to connecting and serving you and your family.

I have always felt that my core purpose in this world was to help

people. I started that journey 8 years ago in veterinary medicine as a

licensed veterinary technician, advocating for animals and educating pet

parents along the way. After a traumatic long 64 hour birth with my son

in 2023, I was inspired by my own doula who guided me through the

toughest challenge i’ve ever faced. If I can help woman in the most

vulnerable stage of their lives, through all the magic and pain that is

childbirth and postpartum like my doula did for me, then I have fulfilled

my core purpose.

In 2019 I was pregnant with my first baby and my friend suggested I get a doula. I had never heard of one before and the concept of a doula was quite foreign! I decided to have one for my hospital birth and what a blessing it was to have my doula by my side for my first birth! I cannot imagine what it would have been like without her. I was so inspired by her calm, loving, supportive and nurturing energy. After I lost my job as a professor at American River due to Covid, I decided to go back to school online with ChildBirth International and get my certificate to be a Birth Doula.

Pregnancy, labor and postpartum come with so many emotions, which are rarely discussed in depth with women’s care doctors. I hold space for every single emotion and encourage parents to really process them. My philosophy is that parenthood, whether planned or serendipitous, is an emotional and physical roller coaster and I take sincere joy in supporting both parents along the ride.
