Jessie’s Story:
While originally hailing from Salt Lake City Utah, Jessie grew up in Sparks and resides there with her husband and two boys.
With her interest in the human body and health, she pursued a Bachelor of Science in Nutritional Sciences. After graduation she initially was unsure of what direction she was going to pursue but ultimately ended up in the education and non-profit field. After her children were born, she was increasingly more passionate about supporting women through their pregnancies and birth; she found she could speak endlessly and hold space with others about pregnancy, birth, lactation and the transition to parenthood. This led her down the path to become a birth doula and lead the group, Sierra Nevada Mocha Mamas, a motherhood and lactation support group for BIPOC women in the Reno area. The human body is incredible and Jessie aims to help others trust their bodies and understand their many options in pregnancy, birth, postpartum and lactation.
