Jen Salazar
Jen’s Story:
In 2019 I was pregnant with my first baby and my friend suggested I get a doula. I had never heard of one before and the concept of a doula was quite foreign! I decided to have one for my hospital birth and what a blessing it was to have my doula by my side for my first birth! I cannot imagine what it would have been like without her. I was so inspired by her calm, loving, supportive and nurturing energy. After I lost my job as a professor at American River due to Covid, I decided to go back to school online with ChildBirth International and get my certificate to be a Birth Doula.
I am a momma of two lovely children and have had one hospital birth and one home birth. Each of my birthing experiences were so special and memories I will never forget.
As a Birth Doula, it is so rewarding to help families bring their babies into the world. It is a privilege to support them as they journey into being first time parent(s) or adding another sweet addition to the family. Being a part of the community and serving families brings me great joy and allows me to give back. My goal is to give families/ create a loving, nurturing and safe environment during their pregnancy, labor, birth and postpartum experience. I like to empower families with evidence-based information and resources enabling families to make informed decisions and a warming experience through all the stages. These are such special life events and memories that I thoroughly enjoy being part of!
