Power in Postpartum

Please RSVP Here

How often have you heard, “postpartum was the hardest time of my life!”?

There are many reasons this statement feels true for parents. Although, it is unfortunately all too common that new parents (and second/third time parents) struggle through the postpartum period (0-3 months of an infant’s life) without answers to their questions, referrals to the necessary community resources, or confidence that they are making the right choices for their baby(s) or themselves.

Welcome to Power in Postpartum! We believe that postpartum can actually be a joyful, nourishing, connective time for parents — by educating and resourcing themselves first. This class combines traditional Newborn Care with a parent-care focused approach that helps to integrate the experience of bringing home your new baby(s) with power & confidence.

Facilitated by postpartum doula community members, Sarah Greenblat & Emily Barney.

New & expecting parents welcome! We encourage birthing & non-birthing parents & partners/support folks of all kinds who will be along on your postpartum journey.

You are invited to bring yourself in pregnancy to prepare, or bring your postpartum self and your little one(s) to learn hands-on!

Note: Infants should be between 0-3 months in order for the information to feel relevant.

Power in Postpartum is a 4 hour class, meeting every month on the 4th Sunday from 2-6 pm at the Anthem Wellness Center.

Being with Death

Please RSVP Here

Being With Death is an offering in eternal exploration of the conceptual, and practical elements of being mortal. Each month there will be a new topic for us to explore as a group through readings, facilitated conversation, art, and ritual together in a safe space. There will be an opportunity to lay to rest what is meant to die for us & call in what is meant to take form.

The goal of this gathering (or shindig, if you will!) is that by Being with Death, as if it were just another participant in our circle, we are invited to experience Mortality Motivated Living, a perspective grounded in the theory that learning to integrate our own deaths, as well as Death in general, is a path that offers us vigorous joy, connection, adaptability & freedom in our lives.

Join us to experience Being with Death on each NEW MOON in 2024.

This DOULA CO-OP Community Event is facilitated by Death Doulas, Megan Allen & Emily Barney.

Important note: This group is not intended to replace mental health counseling/therapy, grief support groups, or any other form of “processing” deaths that we have experienced and are seeking support around.

If you are seeking grief support, please attend our monthly Community Grief Circle hosted by Melissa Chanselle-Hary of Sacred Transits (every 3rd Tuesday from 6-8pm, more details in the event description on our calendar.)

Fernley Pregnancy Support Group

  • 575 Silverlace Boulevard Fernley, NV, 89408 United States (map)
  • Google Calendar ICS

Please RSVP Here

Join our new Pregnancy Support Circle in Fernley, Nevada!

First Tuesday of every month, starting December 5th

No matter what stage of pregnancy you're in, community is important. Many wish they had a space to connect with others who can relate to where they are. Our intent is to create a space where you can share your experiences, connect with other expectant mothers, ask questions, and find nonjudgmental support and encouragement from other people who understand what you're going through.

Please feel free to bring your dinner and comfort items like a pillow, blanket, yoga ball or whatever you need to make yourself most comfortable. This space is for you.

Rural support in rural communities is so important. Rural communities often face unique challenges, such as limited access to healthcare, transportation, and childcare. This can make it difficult for expectant and new parents to get the support they need. We hope this can be a step in creating lasting support options for our community.
