Morgan Lavergne
Morgan’s Story:
Hello, I’m Morgan Lavergne, and I’ve dedicated over 10 years to the field of childcare. During this time, I’ve had the privilege of working with families from diverse backgrounds and ages. One consistent issue I’ve observed is the lack of support for mothers and birthing people after childbirth and beyond. Despite being some of the most powerful people on this planet, mothers in America are often marginalized and treated as an afterthought. They face a troubling absence of advocacy in medical situations, and endure isolation after giving birth, left to care for a newborn without the guidance and wisdom that elder women and a supportive community could provide, Among many other challenges.
This is why I’m passionate about my work as a postpartum doula. I’m committed to centering mothers—the very ones who are nurturing the next generation and forming the backbone of our society. They embody wisdom, compassion, and an unyielding strength that deserves recognition and support. My mission is to restore the much-needed support system that has been missing for too long and to provide mothers, especially those of color who face additional challenges, with the village they need to thrive during this transformative period. Witnessing mothers flourish during the most challenging phase of their lives brings immense joy and fulfillment to my own.
Outside of my work as a postpartum doula, I am deeply committed to giving back to the community. I’ve volunteered at events like the “Reno Family Dinner,” which focuses on fostering community connections and providing meals to those facing food insecurity. Additionally, I have been a Reiki practitioner for three years, and I occasionally host meditation and healing circles to support the community’s well-being. Looking ahead, I’m eager to expand this work and integrate energy healing with postpartum care. My goal is to enhance the overall well-being of mothers and birthing individuals through a holistic approach that nurtures both body and spirit.
