Vernita Stephens
Vernita’s Story:
As a doula, Vernita makes it her personal goal to offer supportive, educational information to parents, helping them to make their own informed choices in childbirth and parenting. She aims to provide emotional companionship and comfort to families by encouraging, empowering and assisting them to be their own advocates during pregnancy, birth and postpartum. Vernita helps families feel confident, prepared and well informed about their ability to take care of themselves and a newborn and adjust to family life with a new addition.
She’s been trained to provide support with infant feeding, newborn care, postpartum self-care and early parenting. She loves being apart of the village it takes to feel loved and supported and helping parents know that they are not alone by providing reassurance when needed. As a doula, she protects your family privacy while making sure to remain mindful of each detail that makes each family feel comfortable at each stage of this special and unforgettable journey.
Vernita also believes in supporting adoptive families to help assist and prepare for baby’s arrival in home as well as aiding in the adjusting period, helping parents and families navigate this new territory. She loves helping moms, dads and adoptive parents to adjust and grow in confidence during pregnancy, birth and at home with the new addition during postpartum. She loves to help new parents thrive, no matter the family dynamic. She believes family is at the center of it all, and she considers it a true honor to be invited into one to assist in meeting their goals/needs. She truly enjoys helping parents adjust and adapt to finding their personal groove. Vernita looks forward to being a part of your village and providing genuineness, empathy, and non-judgmental care.
